Family Vantage

Terms of sale.

The agreement between you and Family Vantage when you buy — whether that is one household membership through a group host or fundraiser, or an annual licence for an organization that offers the program to its people. It is written to be read.

Last updated September 22, 2026. If these terms change, this date changes with them.

Part Two

Your household paid

You joined through a group host, a fundraiser, or directly from us. Part One and Part Two apply to you, then Part Four.

Part Three

Your organization is buying

A union, military family resource centre, library, employer, municipality, association or business is licensing the program for its people. Part One and Part Three apply to you, then Part Four.

Nothing to pay

Your organization already paid, and you are a family using it

Then you are not buying anything and this page is not your agreement. What governs your use is the Terms of use & safety inside the program, reachable from the footer of any screen — plus Part Four below, which covers safety and whose work this is.

Part OneWhat everyone is agreeing to

1. Who you are buying from

Family Vantage (“we”, “us”) is a Canadian business operated from British Columbia. You can reach us any time at hello@familyvantage.ca, or through our support page. Every message is read and answered.

2. What Family Vantage is

Family Vantage is a weekly household program delivered as a private web page: five dinners each deliberately cooking the next day’s lunch, a grocery list sized to the household, activities to do with children, a short partner check-in, and one seasonal task around the home — on both a Signature and a Plant-Based track, with allergen notes and swaps on every meal.

It is delivered digitally. There is nothing to install, no account to create, and no personal information is collected from any family using it. Access is a private link, and on most doors an access word. Content is published weekly and refreshed each season.

3. If there is a signed agreement between us

Some arrangements are set out in a separate written agreement — an organization licence, a group host agreement, a fundraising agreement, or an order form or quote we have both signed. Where a signed agreement and these terms disagree, the signed agreement wins, and these terms fill in anything it does not cover.

Where there is no signed agreement, these terms plus your written quote, sign-up page or invoice are the whole agreement between us.

Part TwoFamily memberships

4. What you are buying

One household membership for a fixed term: access to the program through a private link and an access word, for the people who live in your home, on as many of their devices as you like.

It is delivered right away. Your link and access word appear on the confirmation page after you pay and in a welcome email from Family Vantage, sent to the address you use at checkout. Nothing is shipped.

5. Your year: two kinds of round

Every round has a fixed end date, shown on your sign-up page before you pay. That page also tells you which of these two kinds of round it is.

Rolling access

Your year starts the moment you pay and runs to the end date on the page. Joining early means more weeks for the same price — that is the point, and the page says so.

Launch day

You pay now, and the whole round opens together on the launch day shown on the page, running to the end date. Some launch-day rounds need a minimum number of households to go ahead; if the page shows a minimum and it is not reached by the closing date, the round does not open and every household is refunded in full, automatically — you do not need to ask.

6. Your host

The group or organization named on your sign-up page (“your host”) brought the program to you and promotes the sign-up. Your host receives a share of every membership bought through their page — the page says how much, because a paid endorsement should be disclosed. Your host is not the seller: they do not take your money, they never see your name, email or payment details, and they are not responsible for delivering the program or for refunds. Your agreement is with us.

7. Price and payment

  • The price is shown on your sign-up page in Canadian dollars and is the full amount for the whole term. If a sales tax applies to your purchase, it is shown at checkout before you pay.
  • You are charged once. There is no subscription and nothing renews or re-charges automatically.
  • Payment is processed by Stripe. We never see or store your card number. Your receipt comes from Stripe.
  • If your card is billed in another currency, your bank sets the exchange rate and any fee.

8. Changing your mind: refunds

  • Rolling access: seven days from the day you pay, refunded in full. No reason needed — just email us.
  • Launch day: any time before the launch day, refunded in full; and seven days after the round opens, refunded in full.
  • Minimum not reached: refunded in full, automatically, and nothing opens.

Refunds go back to the card you paid with. Stripe usually completes them within ten business days; the exact timing is set by your bank.

After the refund window, the year is yours and we do not offer refunds. If something has genuinely gone wrong, write to us anyway — we will sort it out with you. Please write to us before disputing a charge with your bank: a refund from us is faster than a chargeback, and we answer every email.

9. Using your membership

Your membership is for your household — the people who live with you. Cook it, print it, put a week on the fridge, screenshot a day for your partner. It is yours to use; that is the whole point of it.

What we ask you not to do: pass your link or access word to people outside your household, or republish, resell or post whole weeks publicly.

At renewal we may issue a new access word to a round, which retires the old one. If a round’s word is being shared widely, we may issue a new one early and tell every household in the round how to get it. We will never end your year without telling you why.

10. Renewal

Near the end of your term the program shows you a quiet notice. Nothing is charged. You can renew through your host’s next round or directly with us, and if you do, the same link opens with every setting still there. If you do not, your access simply ends on the end date, with a short grace period so a week already shopped for is not stranded.

Part ThreeOrganization licences

11. What a licence is

An organization licence lets you offer Family Vantage to your own people — members, staff, families in your community, or cardholders — for an agreed term and an agreed size of group. You receive:

  • A door of your own: a private link carrying your organization’s name, set up by us.
  • The whole program, published weekly and refreshed each season, identical to every other licence.
  • Onboarding and welcome materials you can put straight into a newsletter, an intranet page or a welcome package.
  • Aggregate reporting as described in section 17.
  • Nothing to administer. There are no accounts to create, no seats to assign, and nobody to deactivate when a person leaves.

The licence is a right to offer the program for the term. It does not transfer ownership of anything, and it does not include reproducing the program in your own materials or under your own name (see section 20).

12. How a licence is sized, and what the number means

Licences are priced on the size of the group you are supporting, not per login — because there are no logins. You tell us the number of family households in scope; we price the band; your order form or quote records it, for example “up to 100 family households in [organization]’s membership.”

Being honest about that number is the whole of the arrangement on your side. We do not meter usage, we cannot tell who opened the door, and we will not ask you to police it. If your group grows past the band, tell us at renewal and the band adjusts — that is section 13, and it is a conversation about price, never a penalty.

What the licence does not cover: publishing the link on a public web page, in a public social post, or anywhere else it can be found by people outside your group. Share it through your own channels to your own people. See section 15.

13. Term, renewal and restatement

  • A licence runs for twelve months from the day your door opens, unless your order form says otherwise.
  • It does not renew automatically. Nothing is charged at the end of a term, and no notice is required from you to let it end.
  • Before the term ends we will reach out to ask whether you want another year, and you restate the number of households in scope so the band can be set for the coming year.
  • Rates for a renewal term reflect our then-current pricing, discussed with you before you commit. A rate given for one term is not a promise about the next.
  • Founding Partner and similar designations, where they apply, are set out in your own agreement and apply to the term named there.

14. Price, invoicing and payment

  • The fee, the band and the term are the ones in your written quote, order form or signed agreement. Our published rates are on familyvantage.ca; volume pricing above the published bands is quoted on request.
  • Fees are in Canadian dollars and are for the whole term, payable in advance unless your agreement says otherwise. Applicable sales taxes are added and shown.
  • You can pay by invoice or by card. We invoice on the terms agreed, normally net 30 days, by e-transfer or direct deposit; or we can send a Stripe payment link or card invoice if that is easier for your finance process. Purchase order numbers and vendor forms are no trouble — send them over.
  • Your door opens once payment is received, or on the date your agreement names, whichever you prefer.
  • If an invoice goes unpaid past its due date we will contact you before anything changes. We may suspend a door for non-payment only after written notice and a reasonable chance to fix it.

15. Sharing the link with your people

Send the link through the channels you already use: a member newsletter, an intranet, a welcome package, an onboarding email, a members-only portal, a printed card at a counter. Add your own words around it.

What we ask you not to do: post the link or the access word on a public web page or public social account, include it in materials sent outside your group, or pass it to another organization. If a door gets loose, tell us — we issue a new access word and give you the wording to send your people. Nobody is blamed for this; it happens.

At renewal we may issue a new access word for your door, which retires forwarded links from the previous year without anyone being policed. We will always give you the new word and the wording before it changes.

16. Your name, our name

You allow us to put your organization’s name on your door and in the program, so your people see who brought it to them. We allow you to use the Family Vantage name and materials to tell your people about it. Neither of us uses the other’s name or logo for anything else without asking first.

A door carries your name, not your brand colours — the program keeps its own typeface and palette on every door, because families should be able to trust that what is inside is the same everywhere.

If your agreement grants us wider use of your name — for example as a named partner in our marketing, or a reference call for a prospective client — that is set out there, and nowhere else.

17. What we report back to you

You receive aggregate, anonymous usage: how many times your door was opened over a period, and roughly how long it was open. That is genuinely all there is, and it is all there can be — we do not collect anything about the individual households who use it.

We cannot tell you who opened it, how many distinct families used it, which meals were cooked, or anything about any person. If your reporting requirements need more than aggregate opens, tell us before you buy, so you can decide with the facts in hand.

18. Cancelling a licence

  • Before your door opens: cancel for a full refund, for any reason.
  • After your door opens: the term fee is not refundable, except as below. Nothing renews, so declining the next year is always your simplest exit.
  • If we do not deliver what your agreement says, tell us in writing; if we have not put it right within thirty days, you may cancel and we refund the unused part of the term.
  • If we discontinue the program during your term, we refund the unused part of the term.

If something has gone wrong, write to us before anything else. A problem we can fix in a week is better for both of us than a cancellation.

19. When the term ends

Your door stops opening, and the page comes down. Your name comes off it, and we stop using your name in anything current. Families keep nothing to uninstall and lose nothing they printed or saved. There is a short grace period at the end of a term so a family who has already shopped from Friday’s list is not stranded mid-week.

If you renew later, we can reopen the same door with a new access word.

Part FourTerms for everyone

20. Whose work this is

Family Vantage owns the program — the seasons and their recipes, the written method and notes, the activities, the Anchor and Reset routines, the design, and the app itself. Copyright in it belongs to Family Vantage. It is licensed to you under these terms or your agreement; it is not sold or transferred.

Families are welcome to cook it, print it, put it on the fridge, screenshot a week for a partner, and use it at home for as long as their access runs.

We ask that nobody republishes it, resells it, posts whole weeks publicly, or reproduces it in their own materials or under their own name. If you want to use part of it somewhere else — a recipe in a newsletter, a page in a welcome pack — just ask. The answer is usually yes, with attribution.

21. Safety, and what the program is not

The program is general family-life content for educational purposes. It is not medical, nutritional or dietary advice, and using it creates no professional relationship. Talk to your physician, pediatrician or a registered dietitian about anything medical.

  • Allergens: flags cover the top nine allergens, and suggested swaps are ideas, not guarantees. Brands, recipes and “may contain” warnings change without notice, and cross-contact happens. Read every label, every time, and confirm each substitution suits your family.
  • Food safety is in the cook’s hands: cook meat, poultry, fish and eggs fully, refrigerate leftovers promptly, and reheat until steaming. Timers in the app are conveniences, not guarantees.
  • Children: kid-helper suggestions are invitations, not instructions. An adult stays in charge of heat, sharp tools and raw food. Under-4 notes are reminders, not a complete list — supervise eating, cut food small, and no honey under twelve months.
  • Activities are undertaken at your own risk and need adult supervision. You judge what is right for the ages and abilities in your household.

The full Terms of use & safety inside the program say this at length and form part of this agreement. An organization that offers the program to its people is a referring partner: it does not deliver the program and is not responsible for outcomes in anyone’s kitchen.

22. What we promise, and what we do not

  • Every week of a term has a full week of content. Seasons change, and we improve recipes and activities as we go, so a week you liked may look a little different the next time its season comes around.
  • We aim to keep the program available around the clock. We cannot promise it will never be interrupted — hosting, your connection and your device are outside our control — and short interruptions are not grounds for a refund.
  • We make no promise about particular outcomes: this is a supportive framework for household life, not a guarantee of health, harmony or hours saved.
  • The program is provided “as is.” Despite careful review, errors are possible, and content changes between seasons.

23. Privacy

No personal information is collected from families inside the program, ever. When someone buys, our payment processor handles the payment and we receive only what a receipt and a welcome email need. Organizations receive aggregate counts, never anything about a household. Our privacy policy sets out all of it, including what we hold about an organization’s own staff contacts, and answers most security and privacy review questions on its own.

24. If something goes wrong

To the fullest extent the law allows, our total liability in connection with the program is limited to the amount paid for it in the twelve months before the claim, and neither of us is liable to the other for indirect or consequential loss. Nothing in these terms limits rights that cannot be limited by law, including consumer protection rights where you live.

These terms are governed by the laws of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada that apply there, and we agree to the courts of British Columbia — except where a public body’s own procurement rules require otherwise, in which case we will agree that in writing with you.

25. Who can buy

A family membership must be bought by an adult buying for a household they are part of. A licence must be bought by someone authorized to enter into agreements for their organization. By paying, or by signing an order form, you confirm that is you and you agree to these terms.

26. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms; the date at the top changes when we do. A purchase is governed by the terms shown when you paid or signed, so a change never reaches back into a year already bought.

Questions about any of this, including a vendor form or a privacy review: hello@familyvantage.ca. We answer every one.
